The Peninsula Istanbul

The Peninsula Istanbul in its present form has only existed since 2023, but it’s no newcomer — it occupies three fastidiously restored historic buildings plus one new structure, as a part of the Galataport redevelopment along the Bosphorus waterfront in Karaköy. Like any Peninsula it aims to join the ranks of the most luxurious hotels in town, and like just about any Peninsula, it succeeds; the rooms are ultra-luxe, and tastefully walk a fine line between contemporary international minimalism and classic Turkish ornament. There’s a waterfront infinity pool, a lavish spa, a rooftop restaurant serving a Turkish-Asian hybrid cuisine, and a double-height lobby lounge with a legendary afternoon tea.
