Villa Igiea, a Rocco Forte Hotel
Designed by architect Ernesto Basile for the Florio family, Villa Igiea, now part of Rocco Forte Hotels, is a stunning Art Nouveau masterpiece. Guests are welcomed into luxurious surroundings, including terraced gardens with sea views, Belle Époque halls, period furnishings, and frescoes. Originally intended as a sanatorium, the building was quickly transformed into one of Italy's most luxurious hotels. It offers a peaceful and elegant retreat just ten minutes from the city center, with convenient shuttle service provided by the hotel. Following a meticulous renovation by Olga Polizzi and designer Paolo Moschino, the villa has been restored to its former splendor. The rooms feature exquisite handcrafted furniture, fine fabrics, and antiques. Amenities include a wellness center, tennis courts, the elegant Sala Basile, and three restaurants: Ristorante Florio, Igiea Terrazza Bar, and Alicetta. The final touch is a delicious Sicilian breakfast with cassate, cannoli, granitas, pastries, and excellent local products, all served with attentive table service.
