Montage Los Cabos

The Montage resorts were once strictly a Southern California phenomenon, but they’ve since spread to the east and west; to Deer Valley, Utah and the northwest shore of Maui, respectively. And now they’re expanding to the south as well: Montage Los Cabos brings the now-familiar Montage recipe of luxe lodgings and extravagant offerings to the shores of Santa Maria Bay, between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, home to what might be Cabo’s finest beach. Here the accommodations span the range from lavish and luxurious guest rooms all the way up through one- and two-bedroom suites, and culminate in the Ocean View Casas, each one a three- or four-bedroom residence with every comfort the word “residence” implies. The views are extraordinary, and the setting, on nearly 40 acres of beachfront property, is beautifully unspoiled. The bay itself offers spectacular snorkeling and diving, and just about anything else you can do by sea is on the menu as well, from surfing and sailing to deep-sea fishing. There are dry-land excursions to be had as well, from horseback rides and desert treks to familiar old golf. And the Montage’s own grounds offer ample attractions as well; there’s a typically elaborate spa and fitness center, a gorgeous infinity pool, and restaurants that make the most of the local seafood — and the local tequila.
